Lip augmentation requires the placement of a soft silicone implant. The implant is shaped to provide a natural appearance and available in a variety of sizes. The implant can be removed if necessary. A very small incision is made and the implant is carefully inserted.

People who are bothered by very thin lips can choose surgical vermilion advancement. This procedure involves making a precise incision along the lip vermilion (outer border of the lip), removing a strip of skin above the lip, moving the vermilion upward and outward, and suturing it in place.

Lip lift is one of the most popular lip enhancement surgeries. The goal of this surgery is shorten the upper lip, improve fullness of the upper lip, and increase upper tooth show. As we age, the upper lip will typically lengthen, flatten, and cover the upper lips.

Inject able fillers are generally the best way to treat superficial lines around the mouth area and increase the volume of the lips. Injections are done in a short clinic visit, and the recovery is fairly quick with only mild redness and bruising.

These fillers gradually dissolving over time, these fillers offer results that last several months. Some people, however, are looking for more permanent lip augmentation and consider fat transfer over filler.
